10th Anniversary of a Murder

And here we are, just as predicted. Playing games at the Sheriff/Assessor office in Gilmer County. Back and forth with addresses. No explanation.

I paid the first half of the taxes when I suddenly received the bill for the first half at the beginning of this year then the Gilmer County Assessor changed the name and address to Mark Cottril, who we ALL knew was not going to pay. When I called to question this change, I only got defiant obstinance and no answers. (phone call was recorded and available).

And in Today’s Mail…….

As predicted. Like Magic, they’ve changed the name BACK to me, but sent to DUMO road – just a coincidental wrong address. They seem to have Many names and address on file which they’ve conveniently changed through the years and I have the documents to prove it.

This time, Mr. Gerwig’s office sent me a certified letter informing it would be SOLD for back taxes if not paid within the next four weeks… yet they so conveniently do NOT list the AMOUNT of back taxes owed….. you can’t even make this stuff up.

Again, no questions were answered about why this was all done. It was suggested to me that I have the land split off. I reminded the woman that this had already supposedly been done. I then asked who to contact in Gilmer County regarding a tax/title search. She obviously consulted someone nearby, then told me she had no idea and maybe I should get a lawyer.

*sigh* . This is how they do it in Crooked County.

So I’m done. I’m content and have my own. I’ve been well Blessed. All three siblings and their mommy want to sell off every last trace. Out of sight, out of mind. Hide the evidence. You know how it goes in Gilmer County.

Let the games begin. Willard Cottrill built that property and died there. No good will ever come from owning a murdered man’s land.

I know two parties want that parcel of land badly and it won’t go cheap for the back taxes. Ya’ll can have it. I’m not playing this game anymore. Once it’s gone this time, there won’t be no more. Then what ya gonna do? God Bless.
